I'm thinking President Obama needs to take some deep breaths before making decisions

The President has decided to oppose release of pictures showing U.S. Military personnel torturing prisoners on the grounds that it would inflame anti-American opinion and “affect the safety” of American troops. This after he had said the pictures would be released.

Both decisions were poor. Without reference to the legalities, there was no reason to inflame in the first place. Having decided to do so, who does he think he is fooling?

“That infidel has decided to withhold the pictures that he already said existed, we’re going to have to re-think our current anti-American opinions; and, more importantly, we are going to call off all of our terrorism directed at American troops!”

BO is taking a page from Iran's playbook. First you arrest the inocent journalist then you release her to show what a compasionate country you are. First you announce that the pics are to be released, then you say you will block them to show how concerned you are with American safety.

Unfortunately we ALL got what YOU wished for.

PS - AZ State grads forget having any audacity of hope. Personal drive is no longer required/valued.

A smart person knows when to change their mind, even when he or she knows they will take some heat. This was a very wise decision. It will keep this topic from dominating the news for awhile, and it will save some lives because few things are as inflammatory as a new picture of someone beating up your brother.

Obama will not be perfect, but so far his batting average is darn good...ten times better than his addled predecessor.

And to "J"...so, you think that Barack and Michelle don't value personal drive? Why don't you put your biography of major accomplishments on your non-existent blog, my friend?

I agree, yes sometimes all the people who came before you were not just stupid, or wrong just more informed.

Lifehiker - you made my point. The president and first lady (I am not on first name basis)should hold themselves up as examples for all. Also not sure what my accomplishments have to do with anything but here goes: I have taken care of myself and my own family and never been a burden on the rest of society. enough said.

If the President and his spouse promoted that as something all should strive for big chunks of the government could be eliminated. Oops I forgot thats not their goal.

Dave - thanks for the shout out. Just trying to keep it lively and balanced.
