Curtains or Sidewings?

A bit of live blogging. I'm watching Fox News while surfing and cooking. New Hampshire polling places, at least as pictured on Fox , have curtains with patriotic motifs. Here in Georgia we only have little wings on the baby computer touch screen thing that is suspect these days.

So as to keep my vote constitutionally secret, I guess I have to avoid tall people voting next to me.

At least you're going to vote. I'm appalled at the amount of Americans that don't and then have the audacity to whine about the people chosen to lead us....

For some reason, I assumed you to be taller than average. How tall are you?

I suppose I write in what a lawyer friend calls my "big boy voice."

You've outed me. Here's the whole description:

5' 8", 160ish (with a bit of a gut), greying and disappearing hair.

Well Dave, you've got 6" on me. I'd definitely be in trouble if I had to vote in your polling district.

Historically, by the time the Pennsylvania primary rolls around, the candidates for both parties are all but finalized. I hear tell that they're hoping to change that but I remain cynical and skeptical.

So I suppose it's either move to another state further up the food chain, or accept the candidates that are available come November.

Anyone who tells me my "real" vote counts is blowing sunshine up my Pennsylvania ass.

I'm 5'4" on a good day, and will be voting in Georgia on those untrustworthy machines. I don't care if anyone sees who I vote for. I'm just happy that for once, the primaries won't be a foregone conclusion before I get the chance to cast a ballot. At least I hope not, unless my top choices are the ones that locked it up. The only thing I haven't decided on is which primary I will vote in. Probably whichever one is most in play in this state.

Absentee Ballot - the only way to go. You avoid the crowds, get to vote early and your vote is counted first.

Ah, Pos in his ultra-positive voice about Pennsylvania politics has spoken. But really, your "real" vote does count cause if everyone decided their "real" vote didn't count, what would be left then?
Voting here on those lovely machines - the newfangled ones that is - is a riot at our polling spot as there are still a lot of us (self included here) who get confused by the damned things, ask for help and the person (whatever that person's title is in the election realm I don't know) that is guardian of the machines, comes over, and assists and in doing so, can easily see your vote. Not that how I would vote would bother me for someone else to see - who knows, maybe it would inspire someone here to try a democrat -besides the jackass we currently have representing us in Harrisburg - who is a democrat. Got that? Most everyone around here who knows me, know where my heart and head is when it comes time to vote though. I'm far from secretive about that aspect.

Interesting question. What if no one voted, while we're at it? What would happen then? Or what if the majority of voters selected a 'None of the Above' option? What then?

But I resent the fact that I am relegated to voting AGAINST someone rather than FOR someone. If, for example, Clinton and Romney wind up being the top candidates, and I am not FOR either one, all I am left with is a vote against the greater harm candidate. Not a fun place to be. But where I have been in every election since I turned 18.

Eh, no matter. As an "Independent" I am not allowed to vote in primaries.

In AZ our voting booths are situated to sit four to a table with paper partitions that separate the machines from the views of those on the sides of us, but your choices could potentially be seen from those waiting behind you.

Happy New Year Dave! Here's my New Year's kiss-->(smooch).

PS-How did you get Ryan out to comment?

Ah the ebb and flow of comments. As to getting Ryan back in the game, he just showed up again awhile back. He's even written a couple of posts recently.
