It's August and the Cooking is Easy
I’m in the midst of my annual gorging on tomatoes, corn, cucumbers, radishes and green onions. Bacon and tomato sandwiches accompanied by the other vegetables, there isn’t much better.
It would probably even be OK with Miracle Whip rather than mayo on the BT’s.
Some background music for you: Ella and Louie.

BLTs made with home grown tomatoes are hard to top.
Sadly, although my tomato plants that I put in the old flower bed along the side of my house survived, bloomed, formed some tomatoes too, it does appear now that those 12 tomatoes are no longer growing any larger, nor are any of them even showing any signs of ripening thus effectively ending my longing for a fresh tomato sandwich -with or without bacon (preferably with). Looks like these 12 tomatoes will then be destined to be a meal of fried green tomatoes for us instead of scrumpdelicious tomato sandwiches -with Hellman's Mayo too, I must say! Fermicat's statement is really gospel truth too, ya know!
One word -- jealous!
Vegies up here have been a tad bit disappointing, maybe because of the cooler temperatures and lack of rain we've had towards the end of summer.
So like I said -- jealous!!
You gotta get good, thick sliced bacon, and it's gotta still resemble meat after you fry it. None of that crispy cracker bacon. You might as well use Beggin Strips. Dogs can't tell it's not bacon, but I can.
OK, Fermi,we have home grown tomatoes, something I always mean to produce, and do not follow through on.
Jeni and Molly, I'm sorry for your losses.
Then we have the bacon, Jono, welcome, you are right that as much as you cannot overcook fat, bacon should not be overcooked.
