What to Watch?

I watched exactly none of the Olympics.

As I type, I’m watching Fox News talk about the Democratic Convention. Compelling stuff so far. The reporters have shown and talked about two ladies’ attire. And the issue of whether Barack, Bill and Hillary can reign in the latter’s dissatisfied supporters is being aired.

So far, so boring. I’m going to save my tolerance for watching Biden’s and Obama’s speeches. Biden is entertaining, I’m looking forward to his gaffes this Fall. Obama is a great speaker. Agree or not with what he has to say, he says it well.

I’m off to see what is in the DVR hard drive.

Dave, hearing you say you haven't watched any of the Olympics this year definitely soothes what tiny bit of guilt I may have been experiencing here since I have not watched one single aspect of the Olympics this year!
And, as for the lovely political process and conventions, etc., most likely I will try to employ the same tactic there too. I might break down to watch a speech -maybe two -along the way, unless I can manage to wiggle out of doing that. It's not that I'm uninterested in the whole process, but yet -I am! Not Interested! Same old, same old -lies and more lies -from both parties too, all too often. I do agree with your comments though about Obama as a speaker -he can be very compelling, inspiring too. Just that I no longer believe that any of what is said at these events will take place I guess. And that is sad ya know -losing faith in what should be a really great event but is overshadowed by some darned much corruption and crapola the past so many years now. It won't stop me from voting -I haven't gone quite that far -not yet, anyway!

Why in the hell are you watching Fox News?

I gave in and started watching the convention. I went over to CNN and am now back to Fox.

I read and watch both sides spin. The thing I've notice tonight is the difference in the Fox and CNN coverage. Fox is doing its normal shows without the convention background for the most part. CNN has a set on the floor of the convention and is playing more of the convention itself. Assuming bias, I wonder if they will switch modes next week.

I'm going to watch about as much of the conventions as you did of the Olympics. I already know that both parties are bought and paid for by Corporate America, and I don't need any ostentatious reminders of it.

The only good reason to watch FOX News that I know of is to see how much cleavage and leg the female anchors are showing.

Doctor Sardonicus! I am shocked, truly shocked, that you would stoop to that level of viewing tv coverage to see a little leg and other body parts! LOL

Er, that would be if I watched FOX News, of course... ;)

If I was going to watch any of the conventions, I would do it on C-SPAN, not any of the 24-hour news channels.

I prefer to get the reader's digest version on the internet the next day. Much quicker to read a speech than to hear one.
