Insensitivity

Short take on Mosque "insensitivity:"

I think it is insensitive to try to change the Constitution to kick brown babies out of the country. It's insensitive to roust people based on the color of their skin. It's insensitive to trick a dumb accused criminal into saying something incriminatory. It is insensitive and an affront to basic decency to pick and choose your adherence to constitutional rights.

I do not -- NO WAY AND NO HOW -- support the idea of 'amending' or 'repealing' the 14th Amendment to deny citizenship to anyone born in the United States.

That said, at least the proponents of this lame idea at least understand that the Constitution prevails UNLESS it be amended. Too many in our country today -- including too many in the Administration and, possibly, on the Supreme Court -- think the Constitution can mean absolutely anything Congress (or a Federal judge) says it does. That is far more dangerous.

Sadly, the dupes who are supporting the "idea" of changing the Constitution to deny citizenship to their fellow Americans have no CLUE that they are being cynically manipulated by leaders who surely know the idea is stupid and its prospects hopeless.

Have I heaped enough scorn on both sides yet?

You've always been a middle of the road curmudgeon, it's one of your qualities.
