I think this is a record
My last post was a week ago yesterday. Eight days.
Facebook is the culprit. I started with it as a way to shoot out something quick about a linked news article or something not worthy of more than a sentence or two.
What I didn't realize is that that quick hit is easy. Too easy. I like easy. Ha. I just said typing a post on a blog isn't easy. Though it's true. It takes more time and thought.
Though I don't promise (in the event anyone cares) I'm going to give posting more a shot. In the mean time, my Facebook name is Evad Knat. Friend me if you want to see what I'm wasting time with rather than working here at Rather Than Working.

The bloom will come off the Facebook rose soon enough, at least it will if my experience is typical: I don't want to read 300+ Seinfeldian posts (that is, posts about nothing) in search of some substantive nugget that I want to address.
And Facebook is very limited in terms of the length of what you can post -- so once you get past the slogans you're pretty much out of room.
I use it to "stalk" my kids -- to see what they're up to that they may not have thought to tell me about -- and it is nice to hear from a high school or college classmate -- but that happens only rarely. And I get an email notification when it happens anyway.
FB is kind of like cotton candy. Sweet but no substance.
I could join Facebook and accelerate its demise.
I feel like the last American holdout, but I just can't be bothered.
I adore FB and am on it constantly throughout the day. And even I have to admit I post about some of the boringest events: "Shopping at Walmart for luggage."
Is my life really that boring and dull? Well yeah, I just FB'd it didn't I?
I wish I could find the response you gave me chastising me for "leap-frogging" by joining FB.
Cordially,
