Newly Recommended

I've added a few blogs to the list on the right side of the page.

Blognonomous is written by Kvatch. Mostly topical stuff. Skews to the left. Well written.

Crush Liberalism by Jonathon, guess what, skews the other way. Again, well written.

Dr. Blogstein is witty, irreverent, topical. He has his own internet radio show.

thomaslb writes Living Next Door To Alice. Labels don't work for him. A gentle soul.

More Very Unimportant Stuff by a Canadian rancher/farmer turned Texan. You'll like his take on life as he finds it.

The Average White Guy, Jim, is just what he says. Steeler fan.

The origninal blogs in the list are as good as ever. Check them all out.

Thank you for the link!

One time a friend said to me, "You're kind of like Mr. Rogers, only sometimes you get really fed up." That's a little long for a label, but I've always liked that description. (It's something to aspire to, I guess.)

I wanted to thank you also for the link... I remember commenting on a post here a long time ago - something about fishing and going to church. I thought it was great. And then I couldn't find my way back... not because I'm stupid - but because, Ok, whatever. Maybe a little stupid

I also added you to my blogroll.

I'll be back.

Ryan,

Wasn't me. The last, first and only fishing equipment I had was Zebco rod, reel, tackle box and a few lures. I was more enamoured with the stuff than it's purpose. Boats and I don't get along. They have this tendancy to leave land. When you are out there, you have to be there until the person in charge brings you back.

I should also use this in a post. I graduated from college in December with a degree in Secondary Education with a double major in History and English. Not a great job getter in January. During the day, I substitute taught. At night, I was a bartender. I was able to get a better day job working for the Michigan Department of Natural Resourses. I had my own two ton stake bed truck.

The truck had a lawnmower, a bunch of chemicals and me. I left the barn every morning with the sole task of going, in rotatition to 22 public access fishing sites. I cut the grass, emptied out the garbage from the cans and cleaned the pit toilet.

One day, a fisherman, I know he was because he had a boat and no Zebco equipment, approached me. I was wearing a tee shirt and jeans; but, I had a ball cap that had "MDNR" on it.

He asked me where the best spot in the lake was for whatever kind of fish he was looking for was. Let's call it perch.

I said, several times, I just clean up around here. He was having none of it. I finally pointed to a point on the lake and explained that if you followed it into the water, it became a shoal. A lot of people did well there. He was happy and I was relieved. One of my first intentional whoppers. I've been guilty ever sense.

I'm not getting into me and church.

Dave - it never pays to argue with a lawyer, but I read it on here. I'll find the post and get back to you.

Ryan,

I think I figured out which post you are talking about. On 013107 I did a post about Georgia's Legislature and Governer. The latter wants to spend money to attract bass tournaments. The legislature is considering Sunday sales of beer and wine.

Dave - that would be the one

I found all sorts of other very interesting things digging through your archives.

You have a very good blog. I'm glad you linked over, because that's how I found my way back here.
