Big Rick Drinks Foreign Beer!
As of today, Budweiser is owned by InBev, located in Belgium. Yes, his beloved Bud will still be brewed in Cartersville, Georgia, for now, with its "born on" date proudly displayed.
But, Rick's a Buy America kind of guy. Is he going to send a chunk of his disposable income in Belgium? Other than starting to patronize micro-breweries, something that's not quite his style, he's going to have to go to Samuel Adams, Pabst (the latter hires out the actual brewing to SAB Miller, headquartered in South Africa) or one of the nine other remaining American-owned large breweries: Red, White and Blue Beers.
I wonder what the ants, the frogs, Louie, Frank, the weasel and the ferret are going to do. Are they and the Clydesdales packing up for a boat ride to Belgium?
Rick, I'm feeling for you!

Well, as a resident of NorCal, I'm biased in favor of Pyramid Breweries obviously, but there are many fine beers from the brewers on that list.
Why not Sweetwater 420? It's brewed right here in Atlanta.
Yuengling in Pennsylvania is now the largest american brewery! Yay!

From memory, their Black and Tan and their Lager were both pretty drinkable. But might be hard to obtain south of the line...
actually...

I guess you can get it, if you know where to look.
There you go Rick, American born and bred beer for your pleasure.
I got a buck says he stays with Bud.
Yuengling is pretty well distributed in the South and there is a Yuengling brewery in Tampa.
Rick made me laugh out loud while watching the PBS News Hour, the watching having nothing to do with the laughter.
Yuengling sponsored a golf tourney in Myrtle Beach I used to play in. After the 8th or 9th one, I liked it just fine.
"NEVER SEND A FERRET TO DO A WEASELS JOB".
He'll be happy to know that in spite of the change in ownership, the Tech band still plays the Budweiser song at the end of the third quarter, and probably always will.
I felt pretty damn old when the friend I brought did not recognize the song at all. She had never heard it before. *sigh*
