I Just Discovered a New Use for a Smart Phone ...

at least for me.

I’m planning a Thanksgiving dinner and listed it out in a Word document with the ingredients I don’t have after each dish. I just sent it as an attachment to the Google phone - instant shopping list.

Now, that use of a cellphone in the grocery store is one that I think is a pretty doggone good idea!

Is this any easier than simply writing it down? Or are you just saving paper by keeping it in electrons?

Thank you Jeni, thank you.

Fermi, one, I write less and less. Indeed, my once good handwriting and printing is becoming illegible, even to me. I type a bit slower than I write; but, it's always readable.

Two, when I write something it is there, where I leave it. I often forget to take it where it needs to be, like the grocery store.

I've taken to sending copies of Emails to people to all of my computers, now consisting of the office, the laptop and the Google phone.

Another confession, there are thousands of Emails on all of them but the new Google phone. At some point I have to archive them, but, I don't know how to do it.

I used to print the important stuff out and put in a file. Now the file is the hard drive (backed up by the multiple partitions and the external drive).

More than you wanted to know?

See? And you thought you'd never get used to it.

I must admit, I never use my PDA for ingredients, I carry a small notepad around in my purse each day and use that to write things like grocery lists, tasks, new ideas etc but hey, for the price you've paid for it, use it well dear one.

I email myself for shopping lists, to do lists and any other reminders which are needed.

I do it for all the same reasons, as well.
