Scooter Libby Update
As reported by AP, on Thursday, Scooter Libby paid the $250,000 fine imposed on him. The trial court judge said the law "does not appear to contemplate a situation in which a defendant may be placed under supervised release without first completing a term of incarceration." In layman's terms, no time served, no probation of time served. So, Libby having quickly out of pocket for the fine, may be done with his punishment, though he'll probably have to put the new yacht on lay-a-way.

Yeah, well, I might have known a guy named "Scooter" would have a cool $250,000 lying around for just such an emergency...
Judi (NOTE: not BUFF, or WEEZY, or any other name that would hook up well with SCOOTER)
This is different, I think, than any other presidential pardon in history.
It's not unusual for Republicans to excuse criminals for the crimes they committed on behalf of previous administrations, but I can't think of any other criminal pardoned for committing crimes on behalf of the sitting president.
This sets an extremely bad precedent. Dick Cheney could literally have somebody killed, and the hit man would be untouchable. Who knows? Maybe he has.
Hmm. Looks like you might need to turn on word verification, dave.
Thomas, I'm anti-both parties. Clinton pardoned the investor criminal guy that had contributed a ton of money to his campaign.
Fermi, I hate the verification thing. Unles the spam gets too bad, I'll just delete it.
Judi, I'm thinking that while Scooter wrote the check, the money hadn't been in his account for too long.
That "investor criminal guy" that Clinton pardoned was represented by none other than Scooter Libby.
